All over country, parents moaned when they heard all children over 2 years old must wear face masks. Wearing a mask is an important part of protecting ourselves and others from the spread of Covid-19. As children return to school and daycare, it is even more important to take as much care as possible. However, I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old. Sometimes I can’t even get them to wear pants in the snow, let alone keep a piece of cloth over their face.
I have spent the whole year chasing my kids and trying to get them to keep their faces. These are the ones that worked. My colleague Louryn Strampe and I will continue to test and update for the remainder of this pandemic year. We also regularly update our guide on the best masks for adults. If you are looking for more ideas to entertain your little (or not so little) children, check out our guides for entertain preschoolers during their forties and how to set up a virtual workspace for your kids.
Update December 2020: We added new face masks that we tested from Bonrisu, Rafi Nova, Planting Changes, Grove, etc.
Adrienne So has conducted tests and is the lead author of this guide. Louryn Strampe also tested and contributed to this guide.
