Around the country, bars, restaurants and other public spaces are closed or have limited service. Public transport is a dubious proposition, and cities close the streets to give pedestrians more space to move near their home.
Enter: the electric bike. You don’t have to be in good physical shape to make one. It gets you out, cuts down on fossil fuels, cuts down on congestion and that’s fun. Over the past few years, we have tried almost all types of electric bikes, from the best heavy cargo bikes high-end mountain bikes. Whether you’re in your neighborhood shopping for wood chips at the hardware store or trying to cut a few miles for a socially distant visit, we’ve got the best electric bike for you.
Many bicycle manufacturers have had supply problems this year, the stock may therefore fluctuate. Make sure to check your local retailers. We will continue to test and ride the bike, so if you don’t see one you like now, come back later. Once you have one, check our favorite bike accessories, bike locks, and equipment for a bikepacking adventure.

Update December 2020: We’ve removed old picks and added new bikes like the Batch E-bike.
