Whenever the catwalks in Paris, London, Milan and New York open up, designers can show off looks adorned with flexible ePaper color is displayed. E ink partnered with Plastic Logic to make the first panels of this type based on sound Advanced Color ePaper Technology (ACeP).
Organic glassless oTFT (Thin Film Transistor) displays are lightweight and very low power. E Ink claims they are more durable, thinner and lighter than glass-based TFTs. This, according to the company, makes oTFT displays “ideal” for portable devices. For example, designers could incorporate Legio branded displays into smart clothing and jewelry. Until now, ACeP displays were mainly used for signage, which, of course, does not require the panels to be flexible.
