After going beyond his own projections for Disney + the first year – and facing unprecedented problems with its theater and theme park operations – Disney is leaning even more into streaming. In a presentation to investors on Thursday, he presented a seemingly endless list of content that will be part of his streaming services sooner or later.
Several spinoffs from streaming The Mandalorian, Hayden Christensen’s return as Darth Vader and a film starring C-3PO and R2-D2 were just part of the list for Star Wars alone. Meanwhile, tPhase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins with Wandavision on Disney + in January and won’t slow down for the rest of the year. There is a small catch for viewers: Disney also announced that the price of Disney + is increasing. For now, the change is only $ 1 per month, starting in March, but we’ll see where it goes.
