There are two voice assistants locked in a tussle over who controls your home’s smart speakers: Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant. We prefer Google. Its assistant answers questions more precisely, it has a simpler configuration process and connects to a growing number of smart home devices. All of the devices below have Google Assistant built-in, so you can ask it whatever you search Google for or have it control smart home products like robot vacuum cleaners, smart sockets, lights, and Televisions.
Don’t forget to check out our practical guide on how to preserve your privacy as much as possible while enjoying the luxury of intelligent assistants. We also have many other buying guides, including the Best smart displays, Best smart speakers and Best Alexa Speakers.
