The car also has unique safety features to accompany its unconventional design, including an airbag system specifically designed for its two-way design. Zoox says all four seats get the equivalent of five-star crash safety protection. Meanwhile, the camera, LIDAR, and radar system provide a 270-degree field of view from all four corners of the robotaxi, essentially eliminating blind spots.

Zoox says she’s already testing her new robotaxis in Las Vegas, San Francisco and Foster City, Calif., Although it’s not clear if you can still do one. According to Bloomberg, the company plans to launch an app-based transportation service modeled on Uber and Lyft, but the company said it would not have a commercial launch in 2021.
