Tidal still has a few advantages. Users can pay for a HiFi plan that unlocks streaming options – HiFi and Masters (2304-9216 Kbps) – which are higher quality than anything offered by Apple and Spotify. A music streaming service, therefore, may not be the strangest acquisition if Square is to continue cultivating this younger user base.
