Must read

Sony has “taken down” the Killzone franchise website, but promised that the change would not affect any online multiplayer mode. VGC, visitors from Killzone.com are now greeted with a message from developer Guerrilla Games that begins by saying, “The official KILLZONE franchise site has been retired. In the future, visitors to Killzone.com will be directed to PlayStation.com.”The post also mentions that while this change does not affect the online multiplayer modes of Killzone games, player stats or rank data for Killzone Mercenary and Killzone Shadow Fall

, it is “no longer possible to create or manage clans in Killzone Shadow Fall”.

Guerrilla ends by thanking “the many fans and visitors to Killzone.com over the years for their enthusiasm and support.”

While that doesn’t necessarily mean the Killzone franchise is gone forever, it’s been over seven years since Killzone Shadow Fall has been released as a launch title for the PlayStation 4, and Guerrilla has since moved to Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West.

Killzone on PS2 started the series in 2004 and Killzone: Release on PSP followed in 2006. The PS3 had two entries – Killzone 2 from 2009 and Killzone 3 from 2011, and 2013 saw the release of Killzone: Mercenary on Vita and Killzone. Shadow Fall mentioned above.
