Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7+ has LTE, new processors and a bigger battery

Must read

LTE is a fairly straightforward addition, but it’s limited to the Core i5 fanless setup. The model with LTE works with both physical SIM and eSMI cards, and Microsoft says it should work in more than 180 countries.

As far as the battery is concerned, the Surface Pro 7+ has the largest of a Surface to date, which it has managed to use by using the thinner screen first shown in the Surface Pro X. Microsoft also made other improvements, including a redesigned internal thermal system with larger vents.

The Surface Pro 7+ also received a processor upgrade – it now runs on 11 Gen Intel Tiger Lake processors in Core i3, i5, and i7 configurations. The i7 model is the only one that needs a fan, so the other models should be nice and quiet.

While Microsoft is positioning this device for business and education customers, it’s not exactly clear if or when you’ll be able to just pop up on Microsoft’s website and pick one. We contacted the company for more details on pricing and configuration, but The edge reports that it will start at $ 899 with a Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. You can apparently push up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage in the i7 Surface Pro 7+, and it’ll set you back $ 2,799. There are of course many models between these, including the isolated LTE model, which starts at $ 1,149.
