The rift between NBA stars and some of the game’s greats seems to be widening, with Brooklyn Nets talent, Kevin Durant, throws a new blow at the Hall of Famer Charles Barkley.
Durant has never shied away from his long-running feud with Barkley, and he reignited the beef when he took to Instagram on Sunday.
“I don’t know why they’re still asking this idiot’s opinion,” Durant wrote, responding to Barkley saying that athletes “deserve preferential treatment” with coronavirus vaccines because they pay high taxes.
This followed another apparent shooting days earlier when Durant commented on the post, saying, “These old heads must go and enjoy their retirement.”
Durant was responding to a post that asked why today’s players are “so sensitive” when constructively criticized by all-time greats.
The feud comes after a recent tense interview between great basketball player Shaquille O’Neill and Utah Jazz star Donavon Mitchell in which Shaq said bluntly on the way up and down “you don’t have what it takes to get to the next level”.
O’Neill was quickly called in by a host of pundits for his flippant statement.
