Formula 1 champion Jenson Button to compete in Extreme E

Extreme E is meant to be a show. At the same time, however, motorsport wants to be a modern champion of the environment and sustainability. The organizers plan to highlight climate change issues and work with local partners in each region they visit. In addition, the teams and operational crew will travel around the world. on an old Royal Mail ship which has been restored and modified to reduce CO2 emissions.

The organizers had originally planned to launch the championship January 23 in Dakar, Senegal. Racing slate has been delayed and reshuffled, however, last October. The starting date was then pushed back earlier this month. Currently, the competition is scheduled to start on April 3 in Alula, Saudi Arabia, before moving to Dakar, Senegal on May 20. Then, in the second semester, the competition will pass through Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (August 28), Santarem, Brazil (October 23) and Patagonia, Argentina (December 11). Many of these dates depend on the current pandemic. Agag is “optimisticAbout the race in April, but admitted the virus is “pretty sticky” at the moment.
