We have heard many times about the dangers of social media and how it can distract athletes in their quest to maximize their potential.

However, none of this seems to apply to Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry.

Curry has come to life this NBA season after critics criticized the star for a slow start in the absence of his other brother, Klay Thompson. The Warriors haven’t been in championship form, but Curry looked like his old self after a career-high 62 points against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The three-time champion and unanimous MVP is averaging 28.4 points this year and former teammate Andrew Bogut has revealed how Curry keeps himself motivated, especially when he’s having a bad game.

Speaking on his Rogue Bugs Podcast, Bogut claims that if Curry played poorly in the first half, he would read comments on Twitter to get in the zone.

“He’ll check his mentions at halftime, when he gets a bad half,” he said.

“This is the craziest shit I’ve ever seen. Yeah, Steph, if he had a bad half he would go social and then go out and leave 30.

The likelihood that Curry checked his social media at halftime in a recent game against the Lakers champion is high.

Curry inspired Golden State to a victory from behind after two calm first quarters by his standards.

The Warriors were down 64-48 at halftime with the three-point whiz scoring just seven points. He finished with 19 but scored the game defining three points at the end of the game to seal the victory.

It was much the same against the LA Clippers when Curry turned things around after his team dropped 22 points.

Trailing 85-63, Curry scored or assisted on 16 of Golden State’s next 18 points to finish with 38 points and 11 assists in a 115-110 victory.
