In a perfect world, or at least in a world where “fate loves irony,” as Elon Musk philosophically thought last night on Clubhouse, Fortune annual survey aimed at crowning the the most underrated and overrated CEOs would find the You’re here and the SpaceX leader at the top of both lists. That would probably be how I would vote, given my defense of the chief tech last year.

But I suspect most of the thousands of executives who took our poll focused a little too much on Musk’s hijinks, like his. disjointed bs session on the audio social network last night, and not enough on its achievements, like all those electric cars and Internet satellites. He ended up only on the overrated side of our standings, placing third behind Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos and just above Jamie Dimon. Not bad company, indeed, whatever the title of the list.

Mixed in with sides on the alien UFO sightings (“Look, the image resolution has to be at least 7-Eleven ATM good, okay?”) And travel up to March (“We can potentially take that back to a month”), Musk offered some serious thought about whoever would follow in his footsteps. “If you need encouraging words, don’t start a startup. Starting a startup is like eating glass and looking into the abyss, ”he says.

Sriram Krishnan and Aarthi Ramamurthy, who lead the Good time on Clubhouse where Musk appeared, also explored Musk’s recent interest in bitcoin (Tesla CEO replaced all his Twitter bio with “#bitcoin” a few days ago). “I think bitcoin is really on the verge of being widely accepted by mainstream finance people,” Musk tell the hosts.

And then in a perfect musky moment, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev showed up. Musk hurry the man at the center of the storm memeStonks on why Robinhood held back trade GameStop and other names. Tenev blamed his clearinghouse, the National Securities Clearing Corp., or NSCC, which he said asked for an additional $ 3 billion by midnight Wednesday.

“Is anyone holding you hostage?” Musk asked. “Spill the beans, man… Did something fishy happen here?” Musk demanded to know.

“I wouldn’t charge the shadow or anything like that on behalf of the NSCC,” Tenev replied. “We had no choice in this case – we had to comply with our regulatory capital requirements.”

Ultimately, Clubhouse struggled to deal with the crush of users trying to listen to Musk’s interview live. As the Good time The capacity of the room is around 5,000 listeners and the overflow rooms quickly filled up, some people resorted to streaming the conference live from the Clubhouse app to their phones through more robust platforms like Youtube.

But none of that stopped or slowed Musk, who kept talking. As a movie heroine / fictitious insurance investigator Catherine banning might say: You’re not boring, I’ll give you that.
