Disney teams up with Ronald D. Moore of Battlestar Galactica to develop a Magic Kingdom TV universe. The Hollywood Reporter, Moore was enlisted to build the Magic Kingdom TV universe, starting with The Society of Explorers and Adventurers, which Moore would write and produce for Disney + and 20th Television. The series would take place in a world where “all the lands and thematic characters of Disney parks and classic movies actually exist in another reality.”

Moore would work closely with the Disney Imagineering team, the group responsible for creating and designing thousands of rides, attractions, and resorts at Disney theme parks. They will work together to push the first project off the turnstiles and onto Disney +, which could end up hosting the potential franchise if the first show turns out to be a success. It is understood that Moore would attempt to expand the universe in a manner similar to the world he managed to construct in Syfy’s beloved reimagining of Battlestar Galactica and its multiple ramifications. Moore has a lot of world-building experience, as he has also been instrumental in many Star Trek shows including The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager.

IGN credited For All Mankind as the best show of the Apple TV + launch slate, calling it “the most confident, most directed, and best executed effort” on the streaming service.
