Are everyone ready for NBA All-Star Weekend? Well, let’s call it the night of the stars.

Instead of holding their typical multi-day all-star events, the league brought it all together in one night. On Sunday, the top NBA players hit the ground at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena with the skills competitions and the All-Star Game all going on for a few hours.

3-point competition

7:50 p.m. – At the buzzer. . . snap! Stephen Curry hits the last silver ball to beat Mike Conley by one point. Curry is now a two-time 3-point contest champion.

7:40 p.m. – Stephen Curry blows the rest of the field with a performance of 31 points. He will face Mike Conley (28) and Jayson Tatum (25) in the final round.

7:30 p.m. – The competition ranking at 3 points after three shooters: Jayson Tatum (25), Zach LaVine (22) and Jaylen Brown (17). Upcoming: Mike Conley, Stephen Curry and Donovan Mitchell.

7:25 p.m. – Someone has to tell Jaylen Brown that there is no 4 point game in this contest.

Skills challenge

7:05 p.m. – After finishing second last year, Domantas Sabonis won the Skills Challenge trophy.

“I wanted to make sure I did it this time around,” Sabonis said.

7:00 p.m. – It’s a final round all great man. Domantas Sabonis and Nikola Vucevic beat Skills Challenge favorites Chris Paul and Luka Doncic.

6:55 p.m. – Here we go again. Domantas Sabonis defeats Julius Randle in the opening match of the evening. Then, Nikola Vucevic eliminates Robert Covington to move on to the next round.

The 2021 NBA All-Star Game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 7. The Slam Dunk Contest will serve as half-time entertainment for those watching the All-Star Game.

UPDATE: The NBA announced on Sunday that Team Durant’s Joel Embiid and Team LeBron’s Ben Simmons were excluded from the All-Star Game in accordance with health and safety protocols. Zion Williamson will take Embiid’s place in the Durant squad’s starting lineup.
