This Sonic Plush finally gives you a hedgehog you can cuddle

For all of his demeanor, there’s no denying that Sonic the Hedgehog is undeniably a cuddly creature and this Mocchi Mocchi plush toy by him proves it. The adorable toy is the result of a new partnership between Sega and toy maker Tomy and is the first in a series of Sonic related products from the famous Club Mocchi Mocchi brand.

Club Mocchi Mocchi is a line of plush toys from Japan that are appreciated for their softness and cuddling. There are several brands of Nintendo licensed Mocchi Mocchi including Mario, Kirby, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda, among others. The brand has become more popular internationally in recent years because, frankly, who doesn’t want a fat Octorok or a Shy Guy to sneak in?

As you can see above, the Sonic Mocchi Mocchi plush measures 10.5 x 15 inches and will be sold exclusively at Target for $ 38.99. It only consists of Sonic’s head, so you’re in good shape if the rest of his body turns you off for some reason. The partnership promises that more characters and elements of the Sonic franchise will receive the Mocchi Mocchi treatment in the future. Tails, Knuckles and Amy are sure on their way, but I hope we have a plush for the worst character determined by science, Silver the hedgehog. I could use something soft to kick my apartment.

Sonic has been making a lot of waves outside of games lately. The first teaser for his second live action movie fell a few weeks ago and it has a new Netflix animated series come too. Now is a good time to be the Blue Blur, and all that’s left for fans is the announcement of the next Sonic video game, which will hopefully arrive sooner or later.
