Walkthrough – Dishonored Wiki Guide

Must read

Last modification:

Dishonoredof Step-by-step procedure is divided into “medium” chaos, Low chaos, and the High Chaos sections as there are multiple ways to play the game.

One of the most difficult ways to get through the game, “Low chaos“, is essentially a weak kill playthrough (you cannot kill more than 20% of enemies in the mission); However, Achievements and Trophies are awarded for not killing anyone (or let their unconscious body hurt themselves), so it is difficult to avoid detection, while leaving enemies living!

In the video above, we show the many different ways to accomplish a mission.

Click on the version of the mission you want (note that the “main” section of each mission is based on Low Chaos; Corvo is not the Heavy of Team Fortress 2!) And note that the High and Low Chaos versions of some stages are different arrangements in enemies, missions and events.

What is “average chaos”?

Medium Chaos is not a game state – it’s just there as a guide to playing the game on Low Chaos with an occasional kill or battle here and there (where it would be easy to kill everyone).

Remember that killing anyone will negate the Clean hands success (don’t kill for the whole game), that’s what the Low Chaos walkthrough pages are for.

  • For Clean hands, the Combat Sleep Dart is a very convenient purchase, as it is Corvo’s only non-lethal ranged attack.
  • For Ghost and Without a face, you cannot be spotted at all (the Metal Gear Solid Stealth syndrome). Killing enemies is an option, so you can find the occasional stealth kill using a crossbow very useful. This will naturally disqualify you from Clean hands.
  • Beware that in the mission Flooded district, Corvo will have to make a binding decision between two NPCs. A choice will still mark you as a killer, but will not result in any alerts; the second choice easily results in no fatalities, but it can be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to escape detection (unless you use Folding time at the maximum level at the right time). Alternatively, you can risk shooting the NPC with a Sleep Dart (resulting in a massive swarm of rats) but this will immediately disable the NPC and prevent it from respawning in a version capable of detecting you.

Difficulty Notes

There is no difficulty requirement for everything success. You can complete them all with any difficulty level you choose (and you can change the setting at any time).

A note on Easy Difficulty – Corvo doesn’t need to be in “stealth mode” to stealth or stealth kill enemies on Easy (he can be standing; as long as the NPC doesn’t know him, he can cast the one or the other action).

You might find that Easy difficulty is the fastest / easiest way to do it. Clean hands and Shadow / Ghost especially once you upgrade Corvo’s boots to have maximum stealth. Once you do, you can literally sprint towards unconscious targets and shoot them down.
