You might not be thrilled that NBCUniversal’s peacock snatched Office by netflix, but you’ll have at least one chance to marathon the series without considering another subscription. Variety reports this peacock is diffusion each episode of Office free for a week starting March 18, with new “Superfan” episodes (ie with added footage) and behind-the-scenes videos.
To date, only the first two seasons of Office have been available to watch for free (with ads) on Peacock. You had to pay to unlock the other seven and their extras.
The freebie lines up with the 16th anniversary of the US show’s premiere on March 24, 2005, and includes a contest that encourages you to share tributes to the series on Instagram and Twitter.
There isn’t much of a mystery to NBCU’s plan – it could increase Peacock’s audience by reminding everyone where Office go. It could also encourage existing viewers to pay a Premium or Premium Plus membership to continue watching the exploits at Dunder Mifflin. If nothing else, it will help you revisit a favorite episode or story arc.
