New resident Evil officially titled movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, will be more horror-oriented than the latest Resident Evil film franchise according to director Johannes Roberts who claims that one of the main locations in his film will be “scary as f * ck”. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a brand-new origin movie that will adapt both the first and second Resident Evil games. This new big-screen adaptation is a brand new movie franchise unrelated to Paul WS Anderson’s massive hit franchise. To start this new Resident Evil cinematic world, horror film director Johannes Roberts was asked to deliver a Creepier Film Adaptation.

“The most important thing for this film is the tone. What I liked about the games was that they were really scary and that’s really what I wanted, ”says Roberts. “This atmosphere – it’s rain, it’s constantly dark, it’s scary. Raccoon City is kind of that rotten character in the movie and that kind of vibe in games that I wanted to put [the film]. “

Roberts says his “cinematic inspiration” for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City was John Carpenter, but not the movies you might think.

Resident Evil Origin actor comparison

“I’m a big fan of John Carpenter and I got really interested in it. The way he tells these claustrophobic siege movies and I took movies like Assault on Precinct 13 and The Fog and these disparate groups of characters gathered under the siege, and took that as my cinematic inspiration.

Roberts says the films will take place in both Raccoon City and the police station, as well as the Spencer Mansion. “We have two very distinct places, but we divide people into their worlds. One is more of a siege movie with the police station, and then you have the mansion which is scary like f * ck. “
