Resident Evil movie title officially revealed

The official title of next Resident Evil movie director Johannes Roberts will be officially called “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. IGN learned the official title of the upcoming film from Roberts himself during an interview at SXSW’s online event. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is an adaptation of the first two Resident Evil games and will feature main characters from both titles, including Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy.Set in 1998, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will chronicle the events of the city besieged by infected zombies. The mansion in Resident Evil 1 and the town itself and the police station in Resident Evil 2 will be featured in the movie.

There are a lot of Resident Evil movies and adaptations in the works, so to clear things up, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a new reboot of the feature film. completely unrelated to the franchise previously run by Paul WS Anderson and starring Mila Jovovich.

Constantin Film, the same production company that produced the first Resident Evil movie franchise, is working on Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. The movie has already announced who he has casting for his main roles which you can see in the gallery below.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is not to be confused with a few ongoing projects at Netflix, including the CGI animated film Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, and a Resident Evil Live TV Series spin-off starring the children of Wesker.
