Cary Fukunaga to direct adaptation of Ghosts of Tokyo

No time to die Director Cary Fukunaga to direct an adaptation of the comic book series feature film Image Tokyo ghost for Legendary, according to Hollywood journalist.Tokyo ghost is a cyberpunk series set in 2089 that imagines a future where the human race has become addicted to technology and gangsters rule the world. The series follows Led Dent and Debbie Decay, two policemen searching for a ticket to the Los Angeles Islands for the last tech-free county on Earth: the Garden Nation of Tokyo.Screenwriter Rick Remender will adapt his own work for the film’s script. Fear Agent, another comic book series from Remender, is already developed by Seth Rogen and Shazam! director David F. Sandberg for Amazon.

Before directing Daniel Craig’s latest bonding outing, Fukunaga directed films like the ones in 2016. Beasts of no nation and Jane Eyre from 2011. The filmmaker also directed every episode of HBO’s True Detective Season 1 as well as Netflix’s psychological thriller miniseries Maniacal, and is also scheduled to direct the first episodes of Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks’ long gestation, followed by Band of Brothers and The Pacific, Masters of the air.

Tokyo Ghost debuted in September 2015, earning praise for its imaginative approach to a familiar genre. In our Tokyo Ghost # 1 review, IGN gave the show an 8, calling him “fast and frantic, [and] animated by a strong narrative impulse and an incredible art. “

After many delays, No Time to Die will be released on October 8.
