Oscar Frayer of Grand Canyon killed in car crash three days after playing NCAA tournament

Grand Canyon University male basketball player Oscar Frayer was one of three people killed in a car crash in California on Tuesday, the university said. He was 23 years old.

Spawn, his older sister Andrea Moore and a friend died in the crash near Lodi, Calif., By GCU statement.

Frayer had ended his college career three days earlier, playing 25 minutes in the Antelopes’ NCAA Tournament first-round loss to Iowa. The senior from Oakland, Calif., Was due to take part in startup drills next month after graduating with a communications degree.

“He was the heart of our team with his vibrant and energetic personality. I cannot put words to the pain and sadness we all feel, but we know he is in Heaven and it gives us great joy to to know that we will be together again ”. GCU coach Bryce Drew said in a statement.

Frayer’s teammates responded to the news on social media.
