Must read

In a massive $ 450 million deal, Netflix bought the rights to two Knives Out sequels from Media Rights Capital, via Variety Daniel Craig would reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in both sequels, writer-director Rian Johnson is also expected to return. The purchase represents a further diversification of Netflix’s upcoming catalog, giving the company a new flagship property. The streaming landscape has grown increasingly crowded over the past eighteen months, with the launch of services such as Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, HBO Max, and most recently Paramount Plus. Netflix has remained vigilant in its tactics to maintain a large subscription base, even starting to warn against the practice of sharing passwords between users. Rian Johnson has already dipped his toes into the streaming landscape. Last month, Peacock announced that the filmmaker would write and direct a new Poker Face mystery series for the streamer. The 10-episode series will star Natasha Lyonne. Additionally, the director of The Last Jedi is still working on an original Star Wars trilogy for Disney. Meanwhile, No Time to Die is set to hit theaters in November after numerous delays. The final 007 entry is billed as Daniel Craig’s swan song as James Bond.
