“There are some really deep and emotional things that Cruella faces that send her to the dark and evil side. So in that sense it is [similar]Says Gillespie. “But it’s definitely its own thing. Just to reframe Cruella, I thought it was important to show that dark side of her. But there will be a lot of fun, a lot of humor. There are a lot of jokes and absolutely delicious beats in the style, which is different from Joker.
Disney recently confirmed that Cruella will be available on Disney Plus Premier Access the same day it hits theaters, May 28.
