It’s that time of year – April Fool’s Day – and we’ve posted a ton of Game Infarcer Stories all day. Likewise, developers are looking for creative ways to make their player base laugh. Remedy Entertainment did just that earlier today when it presented Control on PS1. And now, Epic Games is following suit, with a new announcement on the latest skin to grace Fortnite’s vast cosmetic roster. Yes, that’s right, the costume we’d all be dying to wear while skydiving to Weeping Woods is finally here: the Stonks Guy.
Of course, he’s not just called the “Stonks Guy”. In Fortnite, the outfit pack is aptly titled “Diamond Hanz”. The set comes with the classic Stonks Guy mannequin character wearing his famous charcoal suit and light blue tie. Her shiny hands (or are they really just gloves?) Sparkle like diamonds. But wait, Who the heck is Stonks Guy in the first place? I will tell you. HIt’s a viral internet icon that symbolizes questionable budget decisions (hence the confident stature alongside the hilarious spelling of “stocks”). You can check out the original meme below.
Additionally, “Diamond Hands,” the original phrase that inspired the outfit, is associated with investors who tirelessly hold onto their stock or cryptocurrency despite many potential risks or huge financial losses. Unfortunately, the set, priced at 1,200 V-Bucks, is only available for a few hours today, so be sure to head to the in-game store and pick it up ASAP.
Fortnite has received a plethora of content updates in recent months. In addition to three Lara Croft skins (plus other cool Tomb Raider content) and multiple cross teasing, Raptors and other predators have been added to the main island to help add a new layer to combat.
