Knights star Bradman Best aims to recover from his elbow injury within the next month.
Best told Nine’s Sunday Footy Show that he had suffered a dislocation during practice on Thursday before a third round loss to Wests Tigers.
“I came out of the brace on Friday which is great news and I and the physios are working hard to get it right,” Best said ahead of Newcastle’s fourth round home game against the Dragons.
“The elbow – I kind of subluxed it in training and hope to be back in about three to four weeks.”
The powerful center was in sensational form during the first two rounds, generating buzz about the original state of NSW as a teenager.
Still, Best battled injuries regularly throughout his young career and admitted his latest setback was frustrating.
“It sucks. Injury is part of the game, but to do it early in the [season], I was pretty drained. But I understood now and that is what it is, ”he said.
“It’s always difficult. I think I give myself the first day or two to be angry and sad about this, but I know I can come back. I’ve been there a few times before and I think my condition of mind, I think I’m tough enough. Rehabilitation is tough but I put all my eggs in one basket, so I know I’ll be right and come back. “
