A fight between the Bulldogs and Storm players resulted in Ofahiki Ogden of Canterbury and Nelson Asofa-Solomona of Melbourne being sent to the trash.
The brawl erupted in the moments following a try by Tui Kamikamica, which saw the Storm enforcer erupt on a short shot from Harry Grant at close range.
Storm playmaker Cameron Munster then gave Ogden a condescending pat on the head and tensions boiled over, before the referee sent Ogden and Asofa-Solomona back on their way.
“So it’s 12 against 12 … Ofahiki Ogden and Nelson Asofa-Solomona are going to sit and watch for the next 10 minutes of play,” Fox League commentator Warren Smith said.
“Ofahiki Ogden took the bait from Cameron Munster … and then Nelson Asofa-Solomona did something a little silly himself.”
Big Bulldogs Braith Anasta laughed at Munster’s antics.
“He threw the bait over there, didn’t he here, Cam Munster?” Said Anasta.
“And two of the great forwards paid the price. He’s a cheeky five-eighth.”
