Apple Offers Discounted App Store Rates For Small Business Developers

Apple started taking smaller commissions on some of its App Store Small Business Program participants, according to Appleinsider. The tech giant launched the program in November, giving developers who earn less than $ 1 million a year a way to cut App Store fees in half. Instead of paying a 30% commission rate, participants will only have to pay 15% for in-app sales and purchases. The tech giant began accepting registrations in early December, and the program was slated to kick off on January 1, 2021. It looks like Apple may have decided to get things started early, at least for some developers.

As Appleinsider noted, Jacob Gorban, founder of Apparent Software, and a few other attendees revealed that the reduced program fees are now in effect. Gorban tweeted the information with some screenshots:
