This is another difficult setback. Bloodhound testing was carried out using a Eurojet EJ200 jet engine. While impressive, it must be paired with a single-propellant rocket to break the land speed record, which currently stands at 763MPH, and achieve the team’s ultimate goal of 1000MPH. The Bloodhound crew estimate it will take an additional ÂŁ 8million to complete the rocket installation and return the vehicle to South Africa. This means that a simple Patreon, Kickstarter or GoFundMe campaign is not going to cut it.

If anyone does, however, the Bloodhound team is confident that the project will “get bigger and bigger sums of money” through sponsorship and rights selling. “We are now looking forward to reaching 800 MPH [and beyond]”Said Andy Green, the pilot of Bloodhound,” to present this technical marvel and invite a global audience to join in on an incredibly thrilling adventure. After the horrible pandemic year of 2020 that we have just lived, the world needs good news, and Bloodhound is ready to deliver it ”.
