Holidays are upon us and World of Warships: Legends brings a bunch of events and the legendary Battleship Massachusetts just in time for the occasion. There’s plenty to do, including a new Season of Ranked Battles, a Special Desktop Project, and more.
The highlight of the update is without a doubt the new Big Granny campaign. Billed as the final reward of this long campaign, the premium Tier VII battleship Massachusetts (affectionately referred to as “Big Mamie”) is an American classic from WWII. One of the South Dakota-class battleships, it is armed with nine 16-inch (406 mm) guns and has excellent armor protection. In addition, it has an efficient battery of secondary guns, unique for an American battleship. In real life, she is preserved as a museum ship in Fall River, MA. For the first time, this campaign also features a second premium ship – the Japanese light cruiser Yahagi. Fast and well armed for Tier IV, the Yahagi is available at stage 40 of the campaign. The Big Mamie campaign will last six weeks and has 120 milestones to complete, lots to do during the holidays!
Behind the scenes, a special event is taking place throughout the update to collect unique Icebreaker Coins for even more rewards, including Russian Tier VII Battleship Lenin. Renowned for its icebreaker armor along the bow, this ship is sturdy and mounts nine 16 inch guns in an advanced arrangement similar to the British battleship Nelson. Gear is also available alongside three Legendary Tier rental ships: Conqueror, Worcester and Gearing! You can collect Icebreaker Coins by participating in the various holiday events, such as the new Season of Ranked Battles, fighting in or against Legendary level ships, opening Super Santa containers, or completing Icebreaker Havoc missions that become available. after completing the Big Granny. campaign.
Speaking of Ranked Battles, we’ve changed the rules to shake things up! This time you can participate in competitive 5v5 battles with a limit of one destroyer per team. It will be an intense season, with the actions of each player having a bigger impact on the team’s result.
We also remember a dramatic battle in the North Atlantic in December – the Battle of the North Cape. A special office project is available to unlock unique Ice Covered Arctic Skins for three ships: the Scharnhorst, the Duke of York, and Edinburgh. Duke of York and Scharnhorst clashed during the showdown, and ultimately the British ship won the tough duel. Although she was not involved in the battle, Edinburgh is closely linked to Belfast, another ship that fought in the battle and is available to all players.
