Cyberpunk 2077 is a fun game which unfortunately works less than ideal on pretty much all platforms. The base versions of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were particularly blatant, and it left a legion of gamers in the arms. After enduring a weekend filled with videos, screenshots and memes of the game’s many performance issues, CD Projekt Red released a official apology and a roadmap of fixes for the coming months.

The studio opens the letter apologizing for not presenting the game on the PS4 / Xbox One basis prior to launch, thus preventing players on those platforms from making an informed purchase. “We should have paid more attention to improving the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” says CDPR. Keep in mind that Cyberpunk 2077 has always been touted as a last-gen title, and CDPR has repeatedly assured players over the years that the game will perform well on base hardware.

After launching the first wave of updates over the weekend, CDPR presents a roadmap for future fixes. Expect the next patch to arrive “in the next 7 days,” and the studio plans to release updates more frequently overall. This includes on PC, the Cyberpunk platform is by far the best performing. After this upcoming patch, two bigger fixes will arrive after the holidays: patch # 1 in January and patch # 2 in February.

CD Projekt Red promises that these two fixes should address “the most important issues gamers face on the latest generation consoles.” Specific issues are not described, but the studio confirms that it will notify players of the content of each patch before its release. The CDPR is also warning console gamers to keep expectations for these fixes under control, saying these fixes will not make the game look and function as if it were on a powerful PC or next-gen hardware, but will bring him closer to this experience than he is. now.”

Finally, the studio is encouraging disgruntled gamers to request refunds wherever they’ve purchased Cyberpunk 2077 if they don’t feel like waiting for fixes. If for some reason you cannot get a refund, CD Projekt Red shares an email address that will likely help you with this: helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com. Players can contact the studio starting today and for a week until December 21, but there are no details on how exactly the studio will help raise money from the wallet. players.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been a mess, but at least CD Projekt Red has shown a willingness to quickly pounce on its issues (how huge epilepsy problem), especially since the pips obviously affected little initial sales. Hopefully these updates will help base PS4 / Xbox One gamers experience Night City in all its glory, as the game can be awesome when it shoots all the cylinders.
