Bachelor (November 16): South Carolina sacked Muschamp after the Gamecocks allowed 48 or more points in three straight losses. South Carolina was 28-30 under Muschamp, but that included a 17-22 record in the SEC game. The former Florida coach couldn’t get the Gamecocks past the nine-game winning mark in five seasons.

Hired (December 5): Oklahoma aide Shane Beamer will take over from Muschamp, according to multiple reports. Beamer, the son of former Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, was an assistant under Steve Spurrier in South Carolina from 2007-2010. He was also the Gamecocks recruiting coordinator for part of his tenure in Colombia. He then worked at Virginia Tech and Georgia before moving to Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, he was an assistant head coach for offense, tight ends and H fullbacks under Lincoln Riley.
