The last stage of qualifying for the 2021 Daytona 500 is delayed by rain.
Rapid downpours over Daytona International Speedway pushed the start of the second Duel at the Daytona 150-mile race Thursday night from its original location at 8:45 p.m. ET. NASCAR did not give a new start time for the race, but the rain stopped and the track drying began.

The rain came after the conclusion of the first Duel, which took place without any weather threat.
Aric Almirola won the first Duel race, which sets the inside line for Sunday’s Daytona 500. The results of Duel’s second race will establish the outside line and take the last free spot in the 40-car Daytona 500 field.
UPDATE: After more than two hours of waiting, NASCAR scheduled to start the engines for the second race at 11:10 pm ET.
