When the season two finale of The Mandalorian fell last week he teased something called Boba Fett’s book in a post-credits scene. It was clear Boba Fett was going to be spending some time in the spotlight, we didn’t know if this was a movie, a new series, an arc on The Mandalorian or whatever. Today, Disney clarified that Boba Fett’s book will be a full new series that will start in December 2021. Additionally, we know it will run within the same general timeframe as The Mandalorian, so it wouldn’t surprise us to see a cross between these shows.
The tweet also confirms that the show will be produced by Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau with Dave Filoni (executive producer of Star Wars Rebels) and prolific writer / director Robert Rodriguez (who recently directed episode 14 of The Mandalorian). Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will star in their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, whom they played in recent episodes of The Mandalorian. There’s not much else to do at the moment, especially who will lead the show, but given that there’s only a year left until its debut, we should hear a lot about it in the months to come. to come up. Another big question is when The Mandalorian will return for its third season – but with a big new series to debut, it wouldn’t surprise us to see season three pushed back a bit into 2022.
