Today’s announcement closes a period of rapid growth for the platform, with no signs of slowing down any time soon. Much of this growth is due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it’s fair to say if not for shows like The Mandalorian and people wouldn’t look to Disney + to pass the time with the numbers they have so far. The service still has a long way to go before it becomes the juggernaut that is Netflix, but clearly it’s a dominant force in space.
