According to Twitter, two tweets posted this morning (available for viewing in an archive) “Should be read in the context of larger events in the country and how the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the behavioral model of this weeks story … As such, our determination is that the two Tweets above are likely to inspire others to replicate the acts of violence that took place on January 6, 2021, and that there is multiple indicators that they are received and understood as an incentive to do so. “
Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have previously said his account will remain suspended at least until inauguration day, and now the Twitter account where Trump accumulated a large chunk of his followers before becoming president has been wiped out.

However, we made it clear years ago that these accounts are not above our rules and cannot use Twitter to incite violence. We will continue to be transparent about our policies and their application.
