This week’s news has swung between ridiculous extremes. CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077 without addressing most of the issues people face with its design choices, marketing, development challenges, or performance on older consoles – and still sets records. At least a patch is being deployed to address a characteristic that might cause seizures, but that seems like a low enough place to raise the bar.

SpaceX

SpaceX had to do a last second test flight, then launched it the next day and pulled off a stunning Starship maneuver… Before seeing the vehicle explode while trying to land. Oh, and while SpaceX cleaned up the wreckage, the racks holding its next prototype failed, with SN9 showing minor damage when leaning against a wall.

Boeing

Boeing flew a test version of its MQ-25 refueling drone with an attached refueling pod for the first time, bringing it even closer to refueling military aircraft. The two-and-a-half-hour flight showed the aerodynamics of the autonomous drone to be solid with the wing-mounted module it would need to carry most of the time.
