Fan Controlled Football League Salary: How Much Are Players Paid?

Must read

[ad_1]

There’s a new football league starting up called Fan Controlled Football, and yes, that’s what it looks like.

The fans basically control every aspect of the squad, from drafting the players to calling games on the pitch. This allows the league to cut costs in certain areas. For example, there is a single head coach for all four teams in the league and a single position coach for each group of players. The league also uses shared facilities, as well as coaches and medical staff.

The league also films their games in a television studio, rather than a fully packed stadium, which would have a lot of maintenance costs.

MORE: All about the fan-controlled football league

Even though this league is able to cut financial costs in some areas, it is also not really cheap to start a whole new football league. That’s why players won’t be signing multi-million dollar contracts like you see in the NFL.

Below, we’ll break down what we know about wages in fan-controlled football.

Fan Controlled Football: How Much Do Players Make?

Fan-Controlled Football League players earn a weekly minimum of $ 400 to $ 750, plus room and board. That works out to about $ 1,600 to $ 3,000 per month of salary.

Since this is a six-week league, that means players will earn between $ 2,400 and $ 4,500 for their salary throughout the season. This is obviously a lot less than some other startup football leagues. For example, the XFL had an average salary of $ 55,000 and Alliance of American Football players were projected to make around $ 70,000 the first year.

But these two leagues also took place in a 10-week season.

Fan Controlled Football: How Much Do Coaches Make?

The fan-controlled football league has position coaches and a head coach for all four teams. Although their salaries are not publicly available, we have some estimate of their salary. In 2019, the league posted job vacancies for some coaching positions.

Here is what the description of these vacancies says:

The positions will start on April 15, 2019 and run until August 31, 2019. The salary for the position will be $ 3,500 per month and the accommodation and meal plan will be provided for the duration of the contract.

However, that was two years ago and at the time the league was planning to have eight teams. So, a lot has changed since then, and those numbers may not be entirely accurate for today.
