Fan Turns Colin Trevorrow’s Episode 9 Storyline Into A Comic Book

Star Wars fan Andrew Winegarner created a Star Wars comic book adaptation of Colin Trevorrow Episode IX scenario “Duel of the Fates.” In a recent Twitter message, Winegarner announced that he had been working on the project for “a year”. He shared a link to the webcomic adaptation which he created after first illustrating two of his favorite scenes from the storyline of Episode IX of Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, involving battles between Rey and Hattaska Ren on Bonadan and Ren vs. Vader on Remnicore.

After creating those initial comics, Winegarner took the rest of the story on the drawing board by creating seven issues of his webcomic adaptation of Duel of the Fates. The first issue is fully colorized while the later issues feature black and white scenes, as the creator continues to fill in the details and bring the hashed script to life.

“Like many fans, I was disappointed with The Rise of Skywalker, a Return of the Jedi retread that didn’t seem to follow the storyline set in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi,” explained Winegarner. “I was delighted that Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly’s Duel of the Fates disclosed both the screenplay and the incredible pre-production artwork, which I’m incorporating into my adaptation.

The Duel of the Fates script leaked opens at a time when the First Order has almost completely dominated the galaxy. Communication between the planets was cut, leading the Resistance to hijack a Star Destroyer and launch a surprise attack on Coruscant in order to activate a hidden Jedi Beacon that can break through the First Order communications blockade and rally allies. of the Resistance.

Trevorrow has confirmed that the leaked script was legitimate after concept art of its chopped version from Episode IX appeared online last year. Artwork shows Force Ghost Luke Skywalker blocking Kylo Ren’s lightsaber with his hand, Rey using a double-bladed lightsaber to fight Ren, C-3PO comforting his severely damaged sidekick R2-D2, and General Leia Organa delivering a message to BB-8.

The Rise of Skywalker turned out to be completely different from Trevorrow’s version of Episode IX, and ultimately JJ Abrams’ version received mixed reviews from fans of the franchise, with some hoping that the film had been divided into two episodes. Even so, the last chapter of the long saga managed to attract an audience because it crossed over $ 1 billion at the global box office.
