Glenn Roeder, former manager of West Ham, Newcastle and Watford, has died. He was 65 years old.
Roeder, who also worked as a coach under England manager Glenn Hoddle at the 1998 World Cup, has died after a long battle with a brain tumor, the League Managers’ Association said on Sunday.
“A cultured defenseman as a player, he has managed with a studious style and has always been generous with his time and ideas,” said LMA president Howard Wilkinson.
“Glenn was such a modest and kind gentleman who demonstrated a lifelong dedication to the game. Not the type to make the headlines, his commitment and dedication to his work at all levels deserves a special mention.”
Roeder played for Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle.
