Tuesday marked the 25th anniversary of the premiere of “Happy Gilmore,” and despite that, it’s been a quarter of a century since the movie came out – who else feels old? – Adam Sandler presented the brand’s swing like it was yesterday.

On a golf course, in a warm location, Sandler paid tribute to the character who was obsessed with becoming a professional hockey player, but instead realized he had a knack for tearing tee shots.

“OK, it’s been 25 years since I did this,” Sandler says to the camera. “Let’s see what happens.”

As he neared the tee, Sandler added, “I’m scared. Shooter McGavin, it’s for you.”

The actor then took the iconic three steps before moaning over the ball like he did several moons ago. The only thing missing was a Bruins jersey.

“And I’m not lying to you, it’s broken. Broken and it went pretty well. You’re dead, Shooter,” he said, before ending the clip with a maniacal laugh.

If you need a little refresher, Shooter McGavin is the antagonist of hero Happy Gilmore, an ordinary guy who turns into a pro golfer to pay his grandmother’s back taxes. McGavin despises Gilmore, his unorthodox style and lack of good golf etiquette; Gilmore famously rumbles with Bob Barker at a celebrity pro-am.

Well, it looks like there’s no love lost between these two rivals as Shooter took to Twitter to respond.

“Nice drive, Gilmore. Twenty-five, huh? Let’s see if it’s the Shooter’s tour. Take a look,” said actor Christopher McDonald, who portrayed the golf pro, before speaking more. waste and pour a small putt into a glass. “Money. Shooter, I still have it.”

He then adds some famous lines from the movie: “Why don’t you meet me on the ninth green at nine o’clock, Gilmore? Little secret from the pros. OK? And Gilmore, wear something pretty.”

Hal L., a nurse played by Ben Stiller at Grandma’s Nursing Home, who secretly ran a quilting workshop, also congratulated Gilmore on the anniversary.
