After many users began to report that they had found a bow hidden under a rock that could be broken via a save and reload exploit, the game’s creative director confirmed that there was a real way to unlock the weapon that had not been found. , and the secret was to decipher the language of Isu that could be found both in the game and on several sections of the Collector’s Edition.
the YouTube channel Access the Animus had already deciphered much of the Isu text and, with the help of the developers, found the remaining details:
- A phrase “The key is the sword” alluded to the Excalibur Greatsword, which was also hiding in a key art of a raven in the Collector’s Edition. Excalibur’s in-game description also mentions “Legends say he can break anything.”
- The mention of a lake led to a large lake found in Eurvicscire, and others have noted that the shape of the lake also appears to match the shape of the island of Singapore, with Ubisoft’s Singapore location as the X marking the location of the arch (not to mention the creator of the Isu language working at Ubisoft Singapore).
- The secret Isu text on the back of the collector’s edition lithographs can be combined to decipher the time of day the boulder may be shattered – when the sun has set.
How to unlock Noden’s Bow
On the southern edge of the lake is a small island, and it contains a single seemingly unbreakable ore rock amidst the shrubs. You’ll need the Excalibur swordfish for this, but swinging it wildly won’t do.
Be patient and wait for the sun to set in the west. As the sun leaves the horizon, begin to sway over the boulder, and it will shatter – revealing the Bow of Noden – a legendary mythical bow.
