The England international receives racist abuse on social media after his side drew 0-0 with Arsenal.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has said the racial abuse he suffered online following the 0-0 draw at Arsenal was “humanity and social media at its worst”.

The 23-year-old England international has said he refused to take screenshots of the multiple messages he received because it would be “irresponsible” to do so.

“Humanity and social media at their worst. Yes, I am a black man and I live proud of it every day. No one, or no comment, is going to make me feel different, ”Rashford wrote on Twitter on Saturday night.

“So sorry if you were looking for a strong reaction you just weren’t going to get it here.

“I don’t share screenshots. It would be irresponsible to do so… There is nothing original about them. I have beautiful children of all colors who follow me and they don’t need to read it. Beautiful colors that shouldn’t be celebrated. “

The Football Association (FA) previously condemned racial abuse of players after United duo Axel Tuanzebe and Anthony Martial, Romaine Sawyers of West Bromwich Albion and Reece James of Chelsea were targeted last week.

“We are united with all football in our horror of any racist abuse. This is not acceptable in any part of society, ”the FA said in a statement on Saturday.

“We will continue to work with the rest of the game, government and social media platforms to eliminate this discrimination – and all elements of – discrimination from our sport.

Police said on Friday they arrested a 49-year-old man linked to the mistreatment of Sawyers.

Government ministers met England’s top players on Monday to discuss online abuse and discrimination as part of a series of talks on ‘the future of football’.
