Hyundai confirms car build talks with Apple

Last month Reuters reported that Apple’s Project Titan self-driving electric car effort could produce a vehicle by around 2024, and now there are more rumors suggesting the company is serious about getting into the business. Earlier in the day, a Bloomberg report focused on a number of people who were recently hired, citing sources who said the work was at an early stage but also believed it was about half a decade away from launch.

Now CNBC quotes an anonymous Hyundai spokesperson as saying, “We understand that Apple is in discussions with various global automakers, including Hyundai Motor. As the discussion is in its early stages, nothing has been decided. This follows a Korea Economic Daily report that Apple has offered a deal to the company to develop a car as well as batteries.
