Indian captain Virat Kohli topped two men’s categories, including being named Men’s Player of the Decade, while Australia’s all-rounder Ellyse Perry took top female honors in the International Cricket Council’s ‘Awards of the Decade’ ( ICC).
Kohli was also named the best international player for a day while prolific Australian drummer and former captain Steve Smith won the Test award for denying Kohli a clean sweep.
Perry, 30, was named top player as well as top player in the ODI and Twenty20.
“It is a great honor for me to receive this award,” said Kohli, who returned from the Indian tour to Australia to witness the birth of her first child, in a video.
Kohli cited India’s triumphs in the 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy as well as the team’s first Test Series victory in Australia as captain two years ago as special moments. .
“I have enjoyed all of the battles of the past decade,” Kohli said. “I have played against top bowlers in the past and I continue to play with quality bowlers even today.

Afghan spinner Rashid Khan was named the best Twenty20 male cricketer of the decade and former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the Spirit of Cricket award.
A nominating panel selected the candidates based on their performance between January 2011 and October 2020 and the winners were chosen by votes from fans and experts.
