“The Vision GT SV is a spectacular and visually striking car that showcases what is possible when the traditional boundaries governing the design of the actual car are completely removed. By bringing this car to life through a full-scale design study, we were able to present the most extreme version of a Jaguar electric racing car that draws inspiration from the past but fearlessly looks to the future.
Inside the game, the Vision GT SV will be powered by four electric motors instead of three like its predecessor. These engines will allow it to generate 1,877 hp, go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.65 seconds and reach a top speed of 255 mph. The Coupé’s top speed is 200 mph. The aerodynamic characteristics of Vision GT SV will also help it achieve these numbers. Jaguar claims that the most efficient aerodynamic feature developed for the model is its deployable rear spoiler, inspired by the brand’s endurance racing cars. The rear spoiler has two movable sections that automatically rise to increase downforce for greater traction and descend to minimize drag.
Unfortunately, Jaguar has not said exactly what game the virtual endurance racer is for, only that it will arrive in 2021. It could happen with Gran Turismo 7, due out next year for the PS5, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation from the automaker and GT developer to be sure.
