Hawthorn star Jonathon Patton is under investigation after allegedly sending obscene images to a woman on social media.
The Hawks released a statement Saturday night confirming that Patton would be investigated by the club’s integrity committee and that “any such behavior would not be tolerated.”
Patton, 27, was the first pick in the 2011 AFL Draft and played for the GWS Giants between 2012-19 before moving to Hawthorn.
“Hawthorn Football Club is aware of allegations made on social media regarding Jonathon Patton’s behavior,” the statement said.
“The allegations concern behavior which does not reflect the values and standards of Hawthorn Football Club.
“As soon as the club became aware of the allegations, they raised the matter with Patton directly and made it clear that any behavior of this nature would not be tolerated.
“The club take these allegations seriously and have referred the matter to the Hawthorn Integrity Committee.
“Hawthorn is an advocate for equality and respect for all and demands that same behavior from everyone involved in the club.”
