The bot will ask you to sign in with your Spotify account. It promises not to post or change anything – it only needs your listening data. After dealing with your listening habits and asking a few sneaky questions, it spits a series of wicked and disconcertingly accurate punches at your musical tastes.
The bot told a member of the Engadget team (who will remain unnamed) that “your Spotify was please-read-my-manuscript-60-dollar-white-tshirt-local-talk-radio-bumper -sticker-bitch bad. ” He informed another of their listening activity was “Kombucha-Brewing-Too-Much-Feelings-BTS-Is-Awesome-Please-Don’t-Us-Do-Not-Us.” Ouch.
I just tried “How good is your Spotify” on my account and feel under attack. pic.twitter.com/r6b4uwLlMP

It displays a string of statistics including one showing how basic you are. Even if your musical tastes are largely out of the mainstream, AI Can say “There’s a reason nobody listens to the same things you do.” Thanks, bot. Instead of just telling you which songs you played the most often, it will tell you that “you listen to these songs too much”. It might signal an artist you’ve listened to often and wonder if you’re okay.
Before you start looking at your shoes and thinking about the choices you made that led to these slurs, remember that AI is just a little fun. That, or he’s some stupid idiot who, like, doesn’t understand you.
