A starred Stan Sport rugby team has just piled up even more.
Former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika and World Rugby Hall of Fame member David Campese joined the team of commentators on Australia’s new homeland of rugby today.
Colorful and combative, Cheika led the Wallabies to the Rugby World Cup final in 2015 – a feat which also earned him the honor of being named World Rugby Coach of the Year.
Cheika is the only rugby coach to win major provincial titles in the northern and southern hemispheres, guiding Leinster to the Heineken Cup title in 2009 and the Waratahs to Super Rugby glory in 2014.
His tenure at the Wallabies ended after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup.
“I am excited about the way the Australians will look at rugby as the game enters a new era with Stan Sport,” said Cheika.
“I can’t wait to start with Stan’s new commentary team and share my passion for rugby with loyal fans and newcomers.
“We will bring more coverage to the game, with a deeper insight into each game – from the soul of rugby to the brilliance of the international level.”

Campese, recognized as one of the greatest players in rugby history, played in 101 tests for Australia and redefined the way the game was played.
His “goose step” remains legendary and “Campo” remains one of the most recognized rugby figures in the world.
“I can’t wait to return to the live rugby commentary and pass my knowledge and analysis on to the informed and passionate Australian rugby community,” said Campese.
“It’s the start of a new era with Stan Sport and I’m grateful to be a part of it”
Led by respected rugby hosts Roz Kelly and Nick McArdle, Stan Sport’s commentary lineup also includes former Wallabies Tim Horan, Morgan Turinui, Drew Mitchell and Justin Harrison, in addition to All Blacks legend Andrew Mehrtens and the former double code star Allana Ferguson.
Seasoned commentators Sean Maloney and Andrew Swain are also on board to call every kick, try and tackle this year.
Stan’s Complementary Sports Package will be available for $ 10 per month and is the only place to watch every game.
