Michael Keaton DCEU Batman Reports Clarified: No Information Beyond Flash

Michael Keaton’s Batman is expected to make an appearance in Flash but he hasn’t been tied to any other DCEU projects yet.The possibility of Keaton getting ready to play Batman again has been addressed after a recent New York Times Profile sparked speculation the actor would become the DCEU’s new Dark Knight after his potential role in The Flash opposite Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen. The reporter behind the article has since clarified the paragraph about Keaton’s potential involvement in future DC films.

“I was referring to the * only movie * that Keaton was advertised in, and not a set of his own Batman movies,” Brooks Barnes explained on Twitter. “If I had had information about him beyond The Flash, obviously I would have put it in my article.”

In the interview with DC Films president Walter Hamada, Barnes described the DC multiverse as having “parallel worlds where different versions of the same character exist simultaneously.” He then noted that Warner Bros. “will have two different movie sagas involving Batman – played by two different actors – running at the same time.”With Robert Pattinson taking on the title role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, there was plenty of speculation about who could lead the side film saga. A Twitter user Asked Barnes directly, “Some have interpreted that WB is doing 2 franchises with Batman, one with Pattinson, one with a new actor. Is that correct, or you were talking about Keaton as a second Batman, part of a non-Batman-centered saga? “

In response to the question, Barnes simply replied: “Keaton.” He then returned later with another tweet to clarify that he was referring to Keaton’s alleged involvement in The Flash.

Both Ben affleck and Michael Keaton would reprise their respective roles from Batman in The Flash, and it’s believed the film will deal heavily with the concept of the DC Multiverse. Director Andy Muschietti previously revealed that the film will offer his own take on the iconic Flashpoint storyline, which inspired elements of the Flash TV series and 2013 Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.

DC Extended Universe: Every Upcoming Movie

Elsewhere, Reeves has been busy working on the next Batman solo film, which would start from scratch with a story set in the second year of the caped crusader’s career. The film is expected to be part of a trilogy, with the first opus with Pattinson in the main role alongside Jeffrey Wright’s Commissioner Gordon, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman, Paul Dano’s Riddler and Colin Farrell’s Penguin.

The Batman was originally slated for release on June 25, 2021, but will now debut on March 4, 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Flash is expected to arrive later on November 4, 2022, after being pushed back from its original release date of June 2, 2022.
